Ingrid Bloom
Ingrid began exploring Chinese medicine and holistic health many years ago, having discovered its transformative healing effects first-hand as a young adult. She began by studying the mind and spirituality and obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology and cross-cultural religious studies from the U of M in 1990. Ingrid worked in the mental health field for many years but feeling discouraged with the limitations of the biomedical model and wanting to do more to help people on their healing journey, she became certified in shiatsu massage, a Japanese form of bodywork based in Traditional Chinese Medicine principles. She loved the grounding, relaxation and rejuvenation that she observed happening in her shiatsu sessions. Shortly thereafter, she completed her studies in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal medicine at the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Roseville MN, becoming a licensed acupuncturist in 2004. Ingrid enjoys treating a wide range of conditions including Musculo-skeletal pain, women’s health and hormonal issues, digestive conditions, stress, and mental health. She appreciates how Chinese medicine looks for the underlying patterns in any dis-ease process, and from there rebalancing can occur. In addition to Chinese medicine, Ingrid has a passion for learning an array of energy healing techniques, such as Reiki and the use of sound healing such as tuning forks. She utilizes her broad knowledge base to enhance her acupuncture sessions, using her intuitive insights and applying what is needed to achieve lasting results. Ingrid loves being in nature and in her spare time she can be found hiking in the woods or meditating by a lake. She also loves the arts and creativity and enjoys playing piano and painting the occasional watercolor.
